Wake up call
I know most of you would think my naturally beautiful face would be the first thing to greet my hubby every morning. However, he's blessed with this as the first thing he sees every morning...

It's the little things
Little things in life that make us smile #23~
Seeing your child blissfully happy
Austin had his kid birthday party this past weekend...yes, we survived! Halfway through the night, he was grinning like a fool and whispered to me, "Best birthday party ever! Thanks mom!" Oh that made my heart sing and made it a bit more bearable to make it through the rest of the night and sleepover with noisy teenage boys! Nothing makes me happier than knowing my kids are happy.

Can you tell he had fun?

Goodbye blues
Bye bye blue walls. I will miss you, but it's time for something new and different.
This guy of mine does some pretty amazing work. I'm sure glad he decided to "gift" this to me :)

Baseball
The boys just finished up their regular baseball seasons, which means more carefree summer evenings for us. Aaron and I always enjoy watching the boys participate, but it's always nice to see another season come to an end. Neither of the boys' teams had the most successful seasons ever, but nonetheless, they enjoyed their time out on the field.

Little things in life that make us smile #22~
Excitement in a child's voice
Carter's regular baseball season came to an end yesterday afternoon. To say it's been a long season would be an understatement as they haven't been able to scrape up a win until yesterday! The excitement in his voice after the game sure did my heart a world of good.

Unexpected gifts
I've been wanting to repaint the living room/dining room area for awhile now. Of course, one should really give the ceiling a fresh coat of paint before giving the walls a new splash of color, right? Since ceilings, paint and I don't get along very well, my delightful hubby came through for me! He spent a good chunk of his free time this weekend risking his life to get the ceiling painted.

I'm not sure this was OSHA approved, but the ladder didn't slip, he's still alive, I didn't have a heart attack watching this craziness, and the ceiling is painted! When he was finished, Ace casually mentioned that he would take care of painting the walls too - keep in mind my living room/dining room/hallway/stairway walls are never-ending and I want three different colors. I was quite surprised by this as it's summer, and I'm home and can find the time to do it in the midst of sunning myself and catching up on great trashy literature at the pool! He was quite insistent that HE would do the painting himself.
My keen spidey senses were telling me that he didn't want me painting for some reason. So of course I asked. He had the nerve to tell me that maybe I wasn't the "neatest" painter in all of the world :( Now...those are fighting words if you ask me. Me a messy painter? However, he then told me it was his "gift" to me. Well, it only took me a few minutes to decide to graciously accept this "unexpected gift" and get the pool bag packed for the week!
